After the five-member committee held a meeting yesterday regarding the presidential election, "Al-Joumhouria" learned that French Ambassador to Lebanon, Hervé Magro, will visit Speaker of the House Nabih Berri in Ain el-Tineh tomorrow.

In a separate context, after the file caused an uproar and criticism, the Ministers of Information, Communications, and Industry in the caretaker government requested that the General Secretariat of the Cabinet reinsert the item allowing Syrians without residency or UNHCR cards to register in Lebanon for the 2024-2025 academic year, to reconsider it thoroughly and carefully, as it was approved outside the agenda of the last session and was not adequately discussed.

Moreover, Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Boutros al-Rahi stated that "Lebanon's survival depends on changing the downward trajectory by electing a President of the Republic."

Metropolitan Elias Audi of Beirut and its suburbs for the Greek Orthodox Church said, "Our call today is to bear the cross of love without complaint."

On the ground, the confrontation between Hezbollah and the Israeli army intensified today. In a notable event, leaflets were dropped over the Wazzani area in southern Lebanon urging residents to evacuate their homes. In this context, Israeli media reported that what occurred was "an independent initiative by one of the brigades, without the approval of the Israeli army." An investigation has been opened into the incident.
