China Gas Explosion

At least 12 people have been killed in a huge gas explosion in Shiyan city in central China early on Sunday. According to a state-run news outlet, authorities have rescued 138 people from the area, including 37 with serious injuries. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

Israel to Swear in Government

The Israeli Knesset will vote today on a coalition government that might end the rule of Israel's longest-serving Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Fourteen people were wounded after two men opened fire at each other in a popular nightlife destination in downtown Austin, Texas early on Saturday. Police said one of the suspects is still at large. The Austin Police Department Interim Chief said there were no deaths.
