Future Pandemics Treaty

Leaders of 23 countries and the World Health Organization on Tuesday formally backed an idea to create an international treaty that would help the world deal with future pandemics. The idea was surfaced by the chairman of EU leaders Charles Michel last November.

US President Joe Biden’s administration reversed one of Donald Trump’s decisions that listed the Houthis as a terrorist organization.

Saudi, Pakistan Air Force Drill

A Royal Saudi Air Force contingent of nearly 180 pilots, aircraft engineers, and technicians is participating in a two-week drill organized by the Pakistan Air Force. The purpose of the drill is to maximize the combat readiness of participating countries through air-to-air combat training.

CBRT Deputy Governor Fired

Days after the head of Turkey's central bank was fired, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has dismissed the deputy governor. A Bloomberg report said Mustafa Duman, a previous board member at Morgan Stanley, was chosen as his replacement.

UN Seeks Aid for Syria

The United Nations is seeking $10 billion in aid to help Syria, saying civilians there continue to face attacks as well as increased hunger and poverty amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The UN said at least 24 million Syrians need aid today.
