AstraZeneca Cuts Vaccine Supply

AstraZeneca cut its supply forecast of the COVID-19 vaccine to the European Union in the first quarter to about 30 million doses, a 25% drop from pledges made last month. According to late-stage clinical trials conducted in the United Kingdom, the Novavax COVID-19 vaccine is 96% effective in preventing cases caused by the original version of the virus. The vaccine is 86% effective against the rapidly spreading UK variant, forming a combined 90% effectiveness against both versions.
